RSVP for the Solutions for Successful Prison Reentry Town Hall Meeting on April 26th

Vehicles for Change has a paid automotive internship for returning citizens. They work as auto techs at Full Circle Serrvice Center.

Last year Vehicles for Change presented the first Solutions for Successful Prison Reentry Town Hall Meeting at Full Circle Service Center. Moderated by WYPR’s Fraser Smith, the town hall focused on issues affecting returning citizens.

One of the defining moments in the town hall was when an audience member cited that many people have pressing problems of their own so “Why should we care?” In a room full of people who worked on behalf of prison reentry and returning citizens, there were a plethora of answers to help the audience member get a good understanding of how important the work of prison reentry is to the community.

This year’s town hall meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, April 26th from 7-9pm at Full Circle Service Center, will be moderated by WBAL-TV’s investigative reporter, Jayne Miller. With participation from organizations like Crossroads Freedom Center, Maryland Correctional Enterprises, Jayne Addams Resource Corporation (JARC) and the Maryland Transit Adminstration (MTA), as well as returning citizens from Vehicle’s for Change’s automotive training proram, it is sure to be a lively discussion.

There will be a resource fair, featuring organizations that work with ex-offenders and their families to facilitate an effective transition back into society. Some of the resources will include information about housing, addiction, jobs and spiritual enrichment. The fair will take place from 5-6:30pm right before the town hall meeting begins.

You can rsvp for this free community event on Full Circle’s Facebook Event page or at FullCircle@VehiclesforChange.org. If you have any questions or would like your organization to be represented at the resource fair, contact Monica Johnson at 410.242.0732.

WBAL-TV’s Jayne Miller will moderate this year’s town hall meeting.
